All I want for Christmas...

It's time for the inevitable question that I sort of dread all year long....

"What do you want for Christmas this year?"

I think, I ponder - heck, I surmise......It's not that I can't think of what I would like but the list in my head is sooo long, I truly don't know which things I really would like the most. I usually put off buying most non-essential things during the year and just keep a mental list of the things I would really like, but don't want to buy for myself, because I would rather buy stuff for the kids than waste the $$ on myself.

So, I've been pondering this question, thinking that this year is the year I will actually ask for the stuff I'd really like. I've decided to make a short list - maybe it will inspire others to do the same instead of being like Ralphie in "A Christmas Story" and just saying "A Football" when he really wanted an Official Red Ryder Carbine-Action Two-Hundred-Shot Range Model Air Rifle!

Here goes:

Of course, I'd be remiss if I didn't place at the top of my list - World Peace / Inner Peace. Can you believe that a recent survey said more people would rather have a computer this Christmas than world peace?? Okay, okay, a computer is number two...

A Laptop - I take Collette to tutoring 50 miles away twice a week so I'm kind of idle for about two hours each time - it would be nice to be able to get some work done while I'm there just sitting around.

"Deceptively Delicious" - the new cookbook by Jessica Seinfeld. I checked this out at the Barnes and Noble the other day and it's a totally cool way to get your kids to eat their veggies - so sneaky - I LOVE it!!

A Wii - I've never really been into video games before but I've heard so many great things about this game system. There are even websites totally devoted to a "Wii Workout". If I can play a video game and work up a sweat instead of walking around the block in the cold - I'm there! After all, it counts toward my "Taking Care of Yourself" program (dosen't it?)

an Ionic Hairdryer - These things are supposed to be awesome. They say they dry your hair more gently, more quickly and you hair is really soft & shiny when you're done - can't beat that can you?

a new Digital Camera - Our old one only has a 3x zoom and I've come to realize that that just isn't good enough. 10x will be much better.

Dosen't everybody love Pee Wee's Playhouse from the 80's? The only place I can find it now is on iTunes but now it's out in a boxed set - my kids absolutely love it (ok, ok - so do I!)

That's about all I have at the top of my list (well maybe a new Jaguar - but what are the odds?) Let's see if Santa is listening - or better yet, reading my blog!
