Feed the World...

As the staple diet for over half the world’s population, rice is a key component in World Food Programme’s operations, whether helping flood survivors in Bangladesh or feeding hunger’s less high profile victims: from those living in shanty towns in Jakarta to the mountain villages of Bolivia and Nepal. I just found this great site called Free Rice. It's both a game and a charitable donation. You play the game for free - a vocabulary quiz (who couldn't stand to increase their vocabulary?). For every correct answer, they donate 20 grains of rice through the United Nations. You feed your brain, they feed the world!!

Speaking of feeding the world - Remember "Band Aid" in the 1980's - they were feeding the people in Ethiopia...

I used to watch this over and over again, just to see Simon LeBon...he was quite dreamy back then!
