Weight Loss Wednesday

Here we go again!....It's our fourth Weight Loss Wednesday.......I am proud to say that I have lost another...

...bbbbeeeeepppppp......bbbbbeeeeeppppp.....bbbbbeeeeeeppppp.......

We interrupt our regularly scheduled program to bring you this message:

A news alert has just been issued by international birthday police with an all points bulletin...be on the lookout for Eric...today is his birthday. The only information we have is that he is in his mid to late forties and in the midst of a terrible case of mid-life crisis. If you spot the suspect, do not attempt to hand him balloons or flowers, just throw chocolate at him and back away...call and let the professionals handle the job.....

We now return you to your program already in progress....

...bbbbeeeeepppppp......bbbbbeeeeeppppp.....bbbbbeeeeeeppppp.......

...exercise has been put on hold this week. Last week I woke up and my day started off just fine, but about 15 minutes after I got up, while I was in the shower, my heart started beating sooooo hard and fast...it scared the bejeezes out of me. I promptly made a doctors appointment and when I went for my appointment, my resting heart rate was like 130! Dr. put me on some meds to slow it down, so I figure, maybe I should give it some time before I try to bring it up with exercise again.

Did you try a new food from the "A" group last week??...How about a "B" food this week?...

Bananas (has anyone not tried this?..probably not), Bean Sprouts, Beans (lots of varieties, try a new one), Blood Orange, Bok Choy (great in stir-fry), Broccoli, Broccoli Sprouts (I LOVE these on sandwiches and they have tons more nutrients than plain old broccoli). The last two even I can't bring myself to try again, but if you're brave...Brussel Sprouts and last but not least Beets.

Ready for Pink Lemonade's weight loss friendly foods of the week??...here it goes...

Z Sweet. "I am in love. This is a sugar substitute that is a natural sugar alcohol, erythritol. The cool thing is it has NO weirdo aftertaste, looks like real granulated sugar and comes in little packets like fake sugars do. This substitute has a zero glycemic carb load, making it perfect for diabetics and those watching their weight alike. Finally, a safe sugar substitute that doesn’t scare me!" -courtesy of Leanne Ely at saving dinner

Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Breeze "This stuff is definitely one of my secret weapons. It has just 40 calories per huge 8-oz. serving (POINTS® value 1*). It does contain some fat (3g per cup), so it adds tons of creaminess (and a slight vanilla flavor) to recipes without adding too many calories. It can be used in tons of recipes in place of plain old milk (from blended beverages and smoothies to sauces and more). It's AMAZING -- and all natural!" courtesy of Hungry Girl.com

Here is today's motivational moment:

"Even if you are on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there.""

Have a great week and remember: Omega-3's, Water, Skip the High-Fructose Drinks, Exercise and try a new food from the "B" list!! YOU CAN DO IT!!

I'm glad you went right to the doctor. What did he say about exercise? Maybe some light walking wouldn't hurt. When do you go back for a follow-up?

I know that must have been scary.

I have lost 12 pounds (I need to update my blog!) since I started! I am so excited and wish you luck with your weight loss.

Carrie at Jabber-Jaws.blogspot.com has weight loss Tuesdays. Maybe you already knew that. If not, hope to see you there as well.

Broccoli sprouts? Must find! Oh and brussel are divine if you first steam them and then saute them in just a tad of butter...my family just adores those baby cabbages (of course butter can make anything tolerable).

Take of yourself. Definitely continue to listen to your body.
