Try the Next Step

Welcome to another installment of Weight-loss Wednesdays.

Today, I'd like to focus on considering what your next step might be as you continue with your health and fitness goals for the year.

We've talked about goal setting in past weeks. Make sure that you are setting new goals as you meet the old ones. For example, if you worked out consistently for 10 minutes a day for a few weeks, set the next goal for 20 minutes a day. Or pick a completely different goal like doing 10 pushups with good form. I've personally been trying to increase the number of pushups on my toes instead of my knees.

I'm finding that the key to my own fitness success and consistency is setting these intermittent goals. Another recent example is my goal to try using a chin-up bar. For the past 8 weeks, I've been using an exercise band for "pull-downs" to simulate the resistance of a chin-up bar. My goal for weeks has been to move on to a true chin-up bar. Well, today I tried for the first time. It was super challenging, but it felt really good to try that next step.

What is your next step or goal? Write it down... put it on your refrigerator... tell a friend. Or better yet, comment about it here.

I'm pulling for every one of you to get in the best shape of your lives along with me. You can do it and I'm here to help. Have another healthy and happy week ahead. Stop by my blog: Personal Fitness Coach, for daily tips as well.
