~ Cool, Hip Dads Everywhere are Proudly Wearing Burp Armor™ on Their Shoulders ~
The fashion of burping has arrived. Is it possible that after all these years of moms toting around flowery and adorably patterned baby gear and accessories, dads are now demanding their own fashionably appropriate baby products? Today, Burp Armor, the ergonomic, eco-friendly dad-designed burp cloth introduced in 2007, announces that dads across the country, even celebrity dads, can’t get enough of it.
“When Burp Armor was first introduced, moms were the ones buying it for themselves and as gifts for their girlfriends and husbands. Once their husbands got a hold of them and saw how they saved their shirts and ties from messy feedings, they called wanting more of them for themselves and their buddies’ who were becoming new dads. What we find so interesting is that dads are not just ordering one or two of them, they’re buying them in bulk,” said Burp Armor Founder, Creator, and dad, Mike Barclay.
Burp Armor’s innovative kidney bean shape and shoulder flap design completely covers a parent’s shoulder and upper arm from spit-up, dribble, slobber, and messy feedings.
It is also the only triple-purpose burp cloth in the country that is fashionably beautiful and ergonomically designed to work as a burp cloth, infant bib, and even as a baby’s ‘lovey’ or ‘blankie’ long after the last feeding. The many uses it provides gives it more value as a practical choice for parents, especially in today’s economy.
“I saw the need to offer parents a better layer of protection that actually functions to suit the action of burping. Now, I’m hearing from parents (especially dads) who are thanking me for creating a product that is saving their shirts, suits and ties and gives them something of their own to pull out of the diaper bag that is actually really ‘cool’ to wear,” said Barclay.
Aside from being uniquely functional and stylish, Barclay and his wife, Kristin, wanted to take Burp Armor a step further to comfort the many parents who want products made in the U.S. with eco-friendly fabrics, free from herbicides, pesticides, and cytotoxins that may be harmful for babies.
Each Burp Armor is created with two layers of certified organic cotton and hemp fleece. A third layer of organic cotton and hemp corduroy is attached to the bottom of the garment giving it stay-put traction. The combination of fabrics and layers helps it stay in place and makes it 3 times more absorbent than the average burp cloth.
Burp Armor is available starting at $25.00. In addition to its eight stain resistant colors, the company just introduced pink and blue camouflage and skull head prints to its collection.
The cloths are pre-washed in organic soap and emulate the soft, plush absorbency of cloth diapers.
A portion of all proceeds from Burp Armor is donated to Children’s Hospital Boston, one of the nation’s top hospitals specializing in pediatric care childrenshospital.org.
~~ About Burp Armor ~~
Burp Armor was founded by parents Mike and Kristin Barclay. Through their two young children, they have experienced the messiness of burping, losing many shirts to the spit-up, vomit, dribbles and drools. That is what inspired Mike to invent a burp cloth that would simply stay on his shoulder. Once he started the process, they both realized the importance to create an eco-friendly product. Mike, who is a dean of students for a private high school by day, and Kristin, who works in merchandising are looking to make Burp Armor an appreciated brand in the baby space, creating a more extensive line of innovative products for parents everywhere.
