A Clean Kitchen Saves You $$$

In these tough economic times, we are all looking for ways to make that ever-shrinking dollar stretch just a little further. Some of us have those dollars stretched so far we're beginning to be able to see through them while some still have a little extra stretch left. One not so obvious way to help your budget is to keep your kitchen neat and clean. Yes, you heard me correctly, keeping your kitchen tidy will save you money!

I know at this point you're thinking that I'm certifiably insane, but just think about it for a minute. How often do you go out to eat or bring in takeout every week? The average family of four eats out 2-3 nights per week! At even fast food prices that adds up to $250 per month! If you upgrade to casual dining just one time during each week you're up to almost $400. Wow, you think, that's a hunk of change... but how is keeping my kitchen clean going to save me $400 per month?

It's simple really - if your kitchen is neat and clean, it will be ready whenever you're ready to cook. Let's face it - most of those nights that you eat out it's because you just plain don't want to cook... could it be because the kitchen just isn't a nice place to be - or maybe it's too much work to clean it up before you cook?

So let's do it, ladies! Make those kitchens shine, keep those sinks empty and cooking at night will be as easy as pie. Go online and print out a dozen or so meals that can be completed in 15-30 minutes and then make sure you've got the ingredients in the pantry, ready to go. Fill the sink with soapy water before you begin cooking and cleanup as you cook, dinner will be a breeze. Just think, an extra $400 in your pocket each and every month - with all that extra cash you could even take yourself out to eat (planned ahead, of course) a couple of times a month and still have money left over!

By the way... your kitchen may need a good de-cluttering so set aside some time and get your kitchen dinner-ready.
