Menu Plan Monday

Welcome to the very first Menu Plan Monday here at Pink Lemonade!

I've been doing monthly menu planning for quite a while now but have never posted it for others to share - however, I've had lots of requests lately to share my monthly menus so I thought this would be the perfect place.  Why do I menu plan?  Well, mostly I do it to keep our food budget under control - here in Northern California, it would be very easy for our little family of four to spend $800+ per month on food and household necessities (cleaning products, health & beauty products, etc.).  I also have found that planning my menu out for the month ahead gives me some peace-of-mind - I don't have to worry what I'm having for dinner on any given night and I also make sure that on evenings when I'm out until later in the evening there's something going that doesn't require too much work on Mr. Pink's part.

Oh, did I mention that I do all of my menu planning from my Pinterest account??  I do!  It's so easy to create a board for each month's menu planning and throw all of the recipes you'd like to make into it - then I use those recipes to plan the day-by-day menus for each month - so simple!

So here's my Menu Plan for the week of Monday, March 24th through Sunday, March 30th...

Monday, March 24th:
8 can Slow Cooker Taco Soup
Fresh Rolls
(These rolls are so easy and the recipe makes a ton so I either freeze the extras or use half the dough for cinnamon rolls for breakfast the next morning)

Tuesday, March 25th:
Crockpot Teriyaki Pork Tenderloin
Green Beans

Wednesday, March 26th:
Orange Chicken "Panda Style"
Fried Rice
( I use the Kikoman Fried Rice Seasoning Mix that I get at my local grocery store - my kiddo loves this over any other recipe I've tried & it's pretty quick and easy - just remember to make your rice either the night before or first thing in the morning and refrigerate as you can't make proper fried rice unless the rice is cold)
Mandarin Oranges

Thursday, March 27th:
Hot Dogs
Macaroni Cheese
(I always use Annie's Homegrown Shells and Real Aged Cheddar, it's quick, easy & doesn't have any of that pesky [and controversial] orange dye - the kids love it!)

Friday, March 28th:
Chicken Enchiladas
(these are a little high-calorie, you might try using reduced or no-fat versions of many of the products) Scroll down to toward the bottom of the page to find this particular recipe.
Black Beans

Saturday, March 29th:
Pizza Skillet Bake

Sunday, March 30th:

Steak House Grilled Sirloin
Baked Potatoes

There you have it, a week's worth of family-friendly, budget-friendly menus - enjoy & let me know what you think.

Those rolls look delicious. But opening a can of crescent rolls is so easy. I will have to try these one day when I got the granddaughters here to help. Thanks for sharing your recipes

They really are delicious! Trust me, they're really easy - my 12 year old daughter made them on her own from start to finish last Thanksgiving. Let me know what you think when you have a chance to give them a try :-)
