Vanilla Yogurt Sorbet

Cool, sweet and with a hint of refreshing sourness, this sorbet is inexpensive and easy to make.  Using Greek Yogurt is a healthy substitute and is high in protein and rich in calcium.  As a palate cleanser or dessert, sorbet can be topped with fruit, chocolate, nuts or anything else you have in your kitchen.




Vanilla Yogurt Sorbet

Ingredients:
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
32 oz. Greek Yogurt (one large container)
1 tbsp vanilla extract

Directions:
Mix sugar and water. Heat in saucepan until sugar dissolves. Chill before using.
Mix cold sugar syrup (from above) with yogurt and vanilla extract.
Freeze in ice cream freezer, following manufacturer's directions.
