Celebrate World Gin Day with a Milkshake

Calling all gin lovers: Today is World Gin Day! That’s right, an entire day dedicated to our favorite juniper-based spirit. To celebrate the occasion, bartenders across the country are shaking up some gin-tastic cocktails with Caorunn, the small-batch Scottish gin made with foraged Celtic botanicals. From the classic gin and tonic to a fun and boozy Caorunn infused milkshake, below are four recipes to help celebrate World Gin Day.










Bloodhound Shake

By Allison Kave, Butter and Scotch, Brooklyn, NYC

1 ounce Caorunn Gin
1/2 ounce sweet vermouth
1/2 ounce dry vermouth
2 scoops vanilla ice cream
1 scoop strawberry ice cream

Combine all ingredients in a blender until blended.
Pour into a parfait or pint glass.

Top with whipped cream and a slice of fresh strawberry.





Waverely

2 ounces thyme infused Caorunn Gin
3/4 ounce lime juice
3/4 ounce cane sugar syrup
3/4 ounce cucumber puree

Combine all ingredients and shake.
Serve in rocks glass on ice.

Garnish with thinly sliced cucumber and a sprig of fresh thyme.

2 ounces Caorunn Gin
1 ounce Lillet Blanc
1 ounce fresh pear juice
1/2 ounce honey

Combine all ingredients and shake with ice.
Rinse glass with Domaine de Canton, strain and serve in a martini glass.






Clearly Crane


2 1/2 ounces lemonade or Sprite
2 1/2 ounces tonic
1 1/2 ounces Caorunn Gin
1/2 ounces dry vermouth
5 drops lemon bitters

Build in a chilled glass. Add alcohol and bitters.
Add some fine diced orange, lemon, lime and grapefruit and three long sprigs of mint before adding ice.
Fill with crushed ice and add rest of the ingredients. Stir well so fruit is distributed.
